Event Description
To get this year’s Tuolumne Railroad Weekend off to a rolling start on Friday afternoon, THRA and West Side Reunion are sponsoring a special excursion train, pulled by historical Sierra Railway steam locomotive #3.
This excursion train event is open to everyone. You do NOT have to participate in any of the other events during Tuolumne Railroad Weekend to buy a ticket and enjoy the ride!
The event will start with a reception in Railtown’s picnic grounds, with beverages, light snacks, and some special tours. The train will depart and return from the Jamestown depot. We are planning to include extra mileage on this trip.
Tentative schedule:
- 4:30 pm Check-in starts; snacks and beverages available through 6:15 pm
- 5:00 – 5:30 pm First sessions of special tours
- 5:45 – 6:15 pm Second session of special tours
- 6:25 All aboard the train
- 6:30 – 8:00 pm Train ride
