Past Excursions
Our first excursion, the Preservation Sunset Limited, was run on Friday evening, September 26, 2025. It started with a social hour, during which Patrick Karnahan and his Black Irish Band provided musical entertainment, and roundhouse tours were offered. That was followed by an excellent BBQ chicken and ribs dinner provided by Devon’s Delectables. Soft drinks, wine, and beer were available from bartender extraordinaire Cody LaPertche. Then everyone boarded the train, pulled by Sierra Railway’s historic “movie star” steam locomotive #3. The happy crowd enjoyed two round trips to Rock Siding, plus some extra milage above the Railtown 1897 shops. Watch the TSG Multimedia video about this event.
